I believe that Warner Brothers would be a
very appropriate studio to distribute my thriller film because of similar films
that they have distributed in the past such as, Funny Games which is about a
family who are taken hostage by two young men. Another film that has a similar
vein to my thriller film is Argo starring Ben Affleck which is loosely based
around the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis and so takes the form of a rescue
thriller. Finally, the film Swordfish which is also produced by Warner brothers
is very similar in plot to my thriller film as it is based around a highly
secretive renegade counter-terrorist who convinces the best hacker in the
world, who is trying to remain clean, to steal lots of dirty money from the
American government. The opening scene to this action, crime thriller is very
similar to what we are trying to portray in our film, about the chaos happening
outside the church being juxtaposed against the unusual tranquility between the
psychopath, hostage and the police officer.
Warner Brothers' typical target audience is
young adults aged between 15-25 with the majority being males however there are
also females within their target audience. They target this audience as the
films they produce and distribute appeal the most to this age category. The
films that Warner Brothers produce and distribute appeal to both male and
female audiences due to the diversity in the themes and characters displayed.
They interest and appeal to a target audience of young people due to the
elements of suspense and tension created within their films, especially in
psychological thrillers as these engage the audience due to the twist in plot
which keeps the audience on the edge of their seats due to the tension and
suspense created. This also makes the films exciting and thrilling for the
young audience which is why they appeal to them.
