Storyboard Research
Storyboards form a crucial part of the pre-production process when creating a music video. They help the entire production team to see the idea visually and very clearly and it also allows you to see what shots you intend to get o shoot day and what each frame involves.
Essentially, a storyboard is a basic sketch of a piece of footage and storyboard are useful and have great importance for all projects no matter what the scale or budget.
From my point of view, storyboards are also used in order to save both time and money and this is particularly important when working in the music industry. Music videos are becoming bigger an more expensive and time consuming therefore it is really important that the concept is well thought through and planned meticulously in order to ensure that every element has been clearly thought out as this saves time later on in the process.
In my opinion, storyboards also ensure that everyone in the group is on the same page and it allows you to prevent any disagreements from occurring regarding the vision for the music video during the production stage.
I think that storyboarding will ensure that everyone in my group is visually on the same page as well the storyboard providing us with the opportunity to see our idea visually and clearly and therefore if any changes need to be made in terms of the order of the shots then we have this option.
I believe that storyboards are also important during the post-production stage when editing our music video as having the storyboard will allow us to check the order of the shots as well as provide us with the opportunity to refer back to our original idea.
I think that by creating a storyboard it will really benefit our group throughout the pre-production, production and post-production stages as it will allow us to refer back to our original idea, ensure that everyone is on the same page visually in terms of what the video will look like as well as the fact that storyboards are an important part of the planning and preparation for our music video.
Below is a video I found on how to create a storyboard:
