I have been communicating with the makeup artist and she has been sending me pictures of her experimenting with the ideas that she has had for the dancers.
Due to the fact that our original idea for the futuristic makeup involved blocking out the eyebrows we had to patch test the girls with sealing gel to make sure that they weren't allergic to it. Unfortunately the girls got back to me a few days later and said that it irritated their skin and was itching and painful to remove and so we decided to scrap the idea of blocking out the eyebrows as it was clear that the dancers skins was reacting badly to it.
One of the things that she has been trying out was the look for the dancers for the futuristic section. She had looked at using blues and greens and creating a faded transition from these colour across the eyes. Here is a picture of what her first idea looked like:
She sent me a photo of this and I was really impressed but I suggested that we added white mascara and white lipstick to make it look a bit quirkier. I then had the idea of using black, grey, white and silver glitter to create a transition across the eyes instead of the blues and greens as these colours tie in better with the overall colour scheme of our video as well as possibly looking more effective.
This is the palate that Laura was experimenting with the for the futuristic makeup over the eyes:
