Editing 7

Chris and I were supposed to have an editing session together today but unfortunately our plan didn't work out and we were unable to edit today. 

We had arranged to edit from 3:30 until 4:30 but Chris forgot that he had commitments with the careers department and so he was unable to make this session.

When I went to the edit suit to try and edit alone during this time there was a member of a different production team who was editing at this time and she had arrive there first and so she was entitled to edit during this time. 

I then suggested an idea and we agreed that she would stop editing at 4:30 and it would be our turn to edit (Chris and I) as from 4:30 until 5:20 we have a free period and so we had arranged to edit during this time due to the fact that Chris was unable to make our previous time slot. 

However, when it came to 4:30 and we went to edit suite to begin editing we were shocked to discover that another class have their lesson during this time and they are going to be editing during these lessons for the entire week and therefore this means that we are unable to edit during Chris and I's free period for this week as another class will be using the computer during this time. 

This was a very frustrating experience as it meant that today's editing session was highly unproductive as we were unable to make any progress. however, on the plus side it has helped us to realise that we need to plan our schedule in a lot more detail and not only consider the commitments of the members of my production team but also think about how we are going to share the time we have in the editing suite with the other two production groups who are using the same computer as us. It is important that we share the time in the edit suite fairly between the three production groups as this will ensure that we all have an equal opportunity to edit our music videos. 

I hope that by realising this timetabling issue early on it will help us to plan the other times when we intend on editing our music video so that we can hopefully progress with the new cut of our music video which is going to be a performance cut.
