Editing 12

During today's lesson we continued to edit our first cut and by the end of this session we had completed a first draft of the final cut. This was a very productive session as we accomplished the task of completing a draft by the end of the week as we;ll as the fact that we worked very well together as a group in the session and we came up with a good idea as to how to end the music video.

The first thing we did during this session was use markers to identify areas that need more attention and detail when we next come to look at the cut. Through using the markers this helped us to identify when exactly a change or alteration needed to be made as well as helping us to find these moments easily on the timeline as they were clearly labelled.

I suggested that we could alter our idea for the ending and add a fade to black transition after the shot of the 2 computer screens fuzzing. I thought that this would help the video come to an end and provide a conclusive feel to the end of the video. I then had the brilliant idea of creating a neon sign for the end of the video that says BEATOPHONE which is the name of the track as I thought that this would reinforce the track name as well as leave a lasting effect for the viewer as this would excite the viewer and I had hoped that it would look really cool. Evelyn and Chris seemed very excited by my suggestion and we started the research how we could execute this straight away.

The next step in our editing process is to start the colour grading of the video and figure out a way in which we can achieve this neon sign effect for the end of the video. I'm really excited to see how our video turns out in the end.
