Finalising Props

I have been trying to finalise our props list to ensure that we have everything that we intend on using. I have been trying to pout togterh a list of things that we might need.

For the 1920's element the majority of the props have been sourced by the set designers but he ones that I have had to source are a saxophone and a violin and we have found musicians who can provide their own and this element in finalised in terms of props.

The same props are being used in the futuristic element and so again we have the instruments that we will require. However, for the 1920's element we are using a traditional violin whereas for the futuristic element we are going to be using an electric violin.

There are many props involved in the mad scientist element because we want this scene to look fragmented and disorganised. I have been to the science department and sourced many different things that will reflect a mad scientists labs from test tubes, beakers, tubing, signs, molecule models, test tube holders and lots more. We have also got tonnes of wires that we are going to display around the shipping container and 4 old computers.

The majority of our props are finalised and sourced. The only thing that we are still waiting for is the steam punk goggles to arrive as we ordered these from the internet and a science stool for the shipping container element.

Well done for this week and completing the final stages of your research and planning for your music video on Tuesday. Great team work which shows good understanding of what is required – detailed and organised & the storyboard has been used to help organise and plan the video shoot. As an organic process your shot list will develop and prepare you for lies ahead. This has been well presented as a Google document and with visual guides as well. You have attempted to structure what will be filmed using which actors and which props during each part of your shoot day. This is clearly organised into set-ups and builds – an excellent call list.

Make the point that media production is social collaboration which requires a division of labour – specialised skills in order to manufacture the right shots in getting the correct representation of the star image for the ‘pop promo’ and single release.

    Well done.
